Part 8
When we left off, I was relaxing at Disney Quest after a morning on the Wild By Design tour at AK, killing time before tonight's MVMCP.
I took the boat back to PO-FQ to rest up before MVMCP. Truth be told, I was really, really tired, to the point that I didn't feel like going at all. Of course, I'd already paid a lot of money for my ticket, so I decided to give it a go anyway, thinking I could leave really early if I was still too tired to have fun.
I showed up at MK just about a half hour before the Party was to start- I love the atmosphere here when they're all Christmassy!

Look, someone in this photo is wearing lime green! Is it you?

 However, here's a picture I
captured from the video:</p>

You can't see it in that picture, but her belt has a hidden mickey on the buckle.
Delswife had posted about meeting up with DIS people in front of Hall of Presidents at 7, so I headed that way. I found a comfy spot near the entrance, and was treated to the Christmas carolers performing nearby. I looked up and noticed the sign- apparently there is only one president in there now :)

I waited around about half an hour, but Delswife's crew never showed up (Turns out they were right across the path with the Zurgs at Liberty Tree!), so I decided to go down to see the Country Bears. I like their Christmas show a lot more than the regular one.

Claw marks on the floor in the waiting area of the show. Cute!

This moose was painted on the backdrop. Love him!

Big Al is ready to ring in the new year!

I tried to get a picture of the animal heads on the wall, but couldn't get any of them to come out! (Was taking pictures with no flash, I'm nice!) Did you know that Thurl Ravenscroft (voice of the ghost host) also does the voice of the buffalo?
I was actually surprised at how big the crowds were tonight- most of the ride lines were equivalent to what you'd see on a busy December afternoon. Isn't the whole idea not to have lines?
I got the MVMCP pin from the Christmas shop ($11.19! Are special event pins always that expensive?), and then went to find a place to hang out and wait for the parade. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I picked a great spot for the parade. I was in the grumpiest mood from being tired, but having felt like I "had" to show up anyway, but I ended up next to a little girl of about 8 who was there with Make A Wish, and who seemed to be having the time of her life at the parade. I think I spent more time watching her reactions, how excited she was and how much fun she was having, than I did the parade itself. Seeing her have such a great time put me in a much better mood- the Magic is contagious!
I was determined to find a decent spot for Wishes, and ended up with an awesome spot on Main Street, leaning against a trash can near the hub. Great spot! This was my first time seeing the fireworks from this side of the castle, and WOW, what a difference! It was incredible! (Photos and video coming once I get that firewire card!)
After Wishes, I was ready to head back to my last night at PO-FQ for some MUCH needed sleep. I got back to the resort around 10:30, nd went to the food court for another chicken quesadilla like I'd had the night before- I had been looking forward to it, but most of the food court was already closed up! I picked up a pizza instead, which I took to my room, and fell asleep before I even finished it.
