Part 6- December 6th, 2001

Those of you who know me know that getting up early is really not in my vocabulary, but I somehow managed to wake up at 7:30 this morning!  After about two seconds of internal debate, I decided to go back to sleep.  Mickey called right on schedule at 9:30 to get me up officially.  I had a lovely breakfast of cheesecake that I’d purchased the night before, and apple juice.  There is nothing like having cheesecake for breakfast if you are as addicted to it as I am!

Today’s plan was to meet Nate in Future World, so I packed up and was off to Epcot!  Once I got there, I reached for my camera to take some pictures, and discovered that I’d left it back at the Lodge!  Oops!  I took a seat outside Mouse Gear, and could see a lot of people in line to get their pictures taken with some of the characters that were out.  I gave Nate a call, and he said he was next in line to see Tigger, so he’d call me right back.  I looked around and Tigger was just a few feet away, and sure enough, there was Nate!  That was certainly an easy way to meet up!!

We decided to break away from the group for a while, and went to see the Wonders of Life pavilion.  We had fun playing with all of the neat sensory activities, and exploring the pavilion.  Once we’d seen all that we wanted to, we set off for Test Track, because Nate’s group had fast passes.  We got about as far as the giant DNA outside the pavilion when Nate realized he didn’t have his WNBA water bottle with him anymore!  We went back down to the pavilion so he could check the bathroom, but it wasn’t there.  “Who would steal a Washington Mystics bottle?  They aren’t even a good team!” he wondered.  We checked with Lost and Found, but nobody had turned one in.  We were just getting ready to give up on the poor water bottle when Nate spotted it by one of the exhibits we’d been looking at before we left—reunited at last!!

Glad that we had managed to avoid the tragic loss of the Mystics bottle, we went back to Test Track.  Since I didn’t have a FP, I decided to shop in Mouse Gear for a while.  I really needed an extra tote bag because I knew all of my stuff wasn’t going to fit in the bags I’d brought with me, and I found a great black bag with a WDW logo on it for only $20!  I had to wait in line for almost 20 minutes to check out- things were moving really slow that day!  I bought it and went back to the Test Track exit, where I met up with the Cru-Crew a few minutes later.  Nate was looking at my bag and said “Oh, and it even came with a free keychain!”   “It did?” I asked, taking the bag to look.  Sure enough, there was a Mickey keychain inside!  I picked it up to look at it, and it had a $1.99 price tag on it!   I was a Disney criminal without even knowing it!  I debated taking it back for a minute, but really didn’t want to wait in line forever again, so we decided it was Mouse Gear’s fault for not checking the bag, and I ended up with a free souvenir! ;-)

We decided to go ride Universe of Energy (saying "we went to ride Ellen" just sounds funny), and Nate introduced me to the famous "No Bad Dancing!" sign on rides.  So, of course, in the part of the ride where it goes dark with flashing lights, I had to do some Travolta inspired disco.  They must not take their No Bad Dancing rules too seriously, because I didn't get kicked out.  Whew!

At the part where Ellen is fending off a dinosaur, the Ellen animatronic apparently "broke", and Ellen slumped over.  Nate and I were a little freaked out that Ellen had just died, right in front of us!  Poor Ellen.  Stupid Judy.  Our mood was brightened when our pins went off at the end of the ride though - look, sparkly lights!

Nate had to go, so I went off to Innoventions to send an internet postcard home, and then picked up a FP for the Land, and spent the time until my FP time eating butterfinger cheesecake from the Land bakery.  It was okay, but a little too rich for me to eat much!

Since I still had plenty of time before my FP time, I went over to the Living Seas.  I was sad to see that they had taken out the ride!  You can still take the hydrolaters down to Seabase Alpha, but there's no ride!  Sad!  The quality of the attraction in general seemed to have declined a lot.

After riding the Land, I decided to go back to the Lodge to pick up my camera- not having it was driving me NUTS!  While I was at the Lodge, I decided to get some breadsticks from the Mara.  The CM said "Shh!  If they ask, you just have breadsticks!  You know nothing!"  I was confused, because I had no idea what she was talking about, but then I discovered that she had given me an extra breadstick.  Sneaky!  Thanks!

Okay, are you ready for a confession?  Although I started this report the day after I got home in 2001, I apparently kind of stoped writing halfway through Part 6, and skipped forward to writing about Dec. 9th.  I just wrote everything after the free Mickey keychain now in 2005 from my old notes, as I'm getting ready to post this.  I have limited notes to go off of, so let's hope for the best between here and Part 10!

That being said, my notes for today totally end after the free breadstick, so I have no idea what I did the rest of today!  Let's hope tomorrow's notes are better!
