I actually have a fun story to tell for once! Hooray!
I was up at Renaissance Books & Gifts in Springfield this weekend, and saw an ad for bellydance classes, which I've been wanting to take forever, so I called them up yesterday. The lady I talked to listed off a bunch of different times, but most were during the hours I work, so I ended up with my first class at 11:30am today. It was *supposed* to be Intro to Bellydance, or at least that's what she told me. It turned out to be Bellydance 1, so the other people in the class were 8 lessons ahead of me. I survived, I'm proud to say! It actually wasn't that bad at all, but most of it was learning the different kind of shimmies, which is enough to kill me, because those work your muscles like crazy!
The instructor asked if I had plans for the 4th, which I didn't, so I'm now going to be on the float with them in a parade, and then performing in the square afterwards. I had enough time to stay for half of the choreography class, to learn the dance for the parade, but then I had to leave for work.
SO! Let's sum up my first class! I skipped eight classes, and ended up in a parade. Sounds like a productive day to me!
