Let me start out by saying "EEP!" I was just writing in my paper journal, and got to thinking about the Blogathon, which usually happens this time of year. That reminded me of Project Blog, which is the sort of substitute for Blogathon this year. I just checked the Project-Blog site, and the event is NEXT WEEKEND! I'm so glad I didn't miss it! I just took a minute to set up a new blog to use for it, since my old blog hasn't really been updated since last year's blogathon.
If you're interested in doing Project-Blog yourself, or interested in sponsoring me or someone else, just go to project-blog.org and check it out! For those of you unfamiliar with the blogathon, a bunch of people update their blogs every half hour for 24 hours straight, all at the same time, for charity. My charity this year is the Alzheimer's Association.
The cutest little grey kitten has been hanging around our house lately. He looks to be somewhere around two months old, and just appeared out of nowhere about a week ago. He has a huge bite mark on his neck, and one on his chest, which leave me to assume that a dog or similar animal picked him up, but he escaped somehow. I'd love to keep him, but Lula and Lilly HATE him. I'm secretly hoping that he grows on them, and they start to like, or at least tolerate him.
So, on Thursday, I leave the house for work, but my gas light is on, so I stop at the gas station that is less than a mile from my house. As I cut the engine, I hear something. I listen closer. "MEOW!" comes from somewhere in front of me. I immediatly know that it's the grey kitten (known as Mini-Kitty), and that he's under my hood. I pop the hood open, and low and behold, there he is curled up in the very corner of my engine. I grab him out before he can run off, and sit in the car with him while I call my mom to come pick him up. That little guy is LUCKY that I was out of gas, because there is no way he would have survived a longer drive! Looks like he's now used up at least two of his nine lives!
Packing is not the least bit of fun. I spend an awful lot of time staring at my stuff and willing it to pack itself, but as of yet, this hasn't proven to be very effective. I still hold out hope. Mom plans to have movers come sometime in the middle of next week, which is insane, because I'm nowhere near ready for that. While I'm anxious to move into the new house, I'd really rather wait until the guy that's repairing my kitchen gets back from Vietnam, because having to live with my falling-apart wall would not be fun at all.
I'm falling-over sleepy, but just wanted to post some kind of update about the Project Blog before I slept, so that anyone else who had no idea it was so soon would be alerted! Go sign up and do something worthwhile!
