I keep forgetting that I don't have to be up at 9am on Mondays anymore, so the urge to go to sleep early on Sunday nights is still there. I notice the clock heading towards midnight, and think "Oh no! I need to sleep!", but then comes the realization that nope, I don't have to work till 2, sleep can wait! This leaves me wondering what it will be like if I do get into college for this semester, and end up not working at all. It has been forever (for-EV-er!) since I've had no job to go to! Plus, since I'll be doing online classes, I won't have class to go to either, so I will get to go back to that blissful state of actually sleeping when I'm sleepy, and getting up when I'm rested. Wouldn't life be so much better if we all got to do that? Throw in eating when we're hungry, and not when we're full, and we would probably all be a lot healthier, too.
Mom and I have been discussing getting a new bird, probably another cockatiel, because Bosco has been driving us NUTS since Baby died. I know he's probably lonely, and not used to not having another bird to talk to, so I feel bad for him. I stopped at the pet shop the other day to look around, and came across a beautiful blue and gold Macaw that was out. I stopped to talk to him, and the next thing I do, he was motioning as if he wanted to jump on me! I put my shoulder near his perch, and he climbed on! So cute! Well, the next thing I know, he's nibbling on my scarf, the strap of my purse, my sweatshirt, but THEN, be climbs up on top of my HEAD and starts grooming my hair!!! I was cracking up. How does one go about getting a giant bird off their head? The pet shop guy finally noticed and asked if I needed help. I, of course, fell in love with this bird, who I am sure probably costs about fifty million dollars. I found this macaw on Google that looks a lot like him, just in case you want to complete your mental image of me with a giant bird on my head:
As you can guess, I'm still stressing about the college thing. I do plan to call work tomorrow and give them my 2 weeks notice, so I darn well better get in somewhere!
I've been really bad about buying DVD's lately. I blame Best Buy for giving me that credit card! I also caught up on some of the Netflixes I had out, since I canceled my membership, and need to send em back. Thus, on Saturday, I watched Elf, The Princess Diaries 2, Lara Croft & the Cradle of Life, and Spiderman 2.
Inspired by everyone on the face of the earth, who all seem to have taken up knitting, I finally bought some yarn and some needles today. This conversation with Kelly amused me for some reason:
Paradoxikel:
Did you get yarn?
CrystalW07:
Yup!
CrystalW07:
it is pink
Paradoxikel:
What kind?
CrystalW07:
pink!
Paradoxikel:
What's it made of!?
CrystalW07:
um...ducks?
Paradoxikel:
Ooooh. Duck yarn!
CrystalW07:
oh, it appears to be acrylic
I managed to do a whole bunch of casting on stitches, but got totally lost on the actual knitting part. This stuff is hard!
