I'm writing this on a quick break from studying.  (It is 4:26am) Shhh, don't let them know I've escaped!

First things first- if you are one of the three people on this planet that I have not yet nagged into going, my site now has it's very own message boards!  All the cool kids have already registered, but it's not too late for you to be cool, too!  Posts are still pretty sparse, so go forth and be one of the pioneers!  I will think you are cool, and even give you a cool title if you're one of the first people.

So, history class, aka "every damn thing that's happened, ever, in 8 weeks" started on Wednesday.  Actually, I was able to access the class (yay for online classes!) late Tuesday night, so I got to begin my freaking out early.  The amount of work is crazy!  Crazy!  Every week we read 2 chapters in the textbook (Around 80-100 pages of tiny tiny print, of which I average 1 page of notes per 2 pages of text), 2 chapters in the supplimentary Sources book (35-40 pages) and a few additional articles or web pages posted in the lecture portion of the class's website.  Then there is a set of 20 questions over each chapter, which are pretty easy, and I've been finishing in about 20-30 minutes, since they follow the order of the text for the most part.  Then there are 4 discussion questions.  You post a response of at least 250 words to each one, as well as taking part in discussing other people's posts.  Additionally, every other week, a 3-5 page paper is due.  Welcome to Week 1 of my class.

I was smart, at least, and started reading my textbook back when I got it, but I could never get through more than 5 or so pages at a time, so it took me a month to get through the first two chapters.  Thankfully, though, I had them done, since the questions over them were due the day after class started, and reading them in a day instead of a month would have *sucked*.  Also thankfully, I've developed some new superhuman concentration, and got through almost ALL of chapter 2 tonight, in just over 3 hours!  (I say "almost" all because I had already done the first 5 pages yesterday.)  Being on such a roll, I then did the chapter 2 discussion questions, which aren't even due till Thursday.  Go Team Me!

I'm kind of on a roll now, and almost want to start on chapter 3.  Do you think my brain will explode if I do?  I need to have it read by Monday anyway, so it really couldn't hurt to just *start* it....

Oh no.  Yeah, I just realized it about when you did.  I've become addicted to reading a history textbook.  Send help.  And coffee.  And maybe a few new legal pads, because this one is going to be full before we even hit the middle ages.

Comments and llamas make me happy.
