I realized this morning that I really need to go to the dentist.  I thought about it a couple of months ago, but when I called to find out how much a cleaning was, and heard that they charged a hundred dollars, it went back on the back burner.  I mean seriously, $100 for a cleaning?  Not everyone has insurance!  But anyway, I was just looking at my teeth in the mirror (don't you love those contorted faces you make when you try to do that?) and saw that I have one cavity that really needs to be filled, and a couple of tiny ones that I need to catch before they get any bigger.  Oh, what fun this will be.

I have never, ever had really good teeth.  I don't really know why, it's not like I don't own a toothbrush.  The main reason I've found recently is that I have acid reflux, which they say can really damage your teeth.  Unfair!

It's times like this that I really wish I had dental insurance.  It is unbelievable what it costs to get dental stuff done!  I don't even want to think about what this is going to cost.  The one thing in the deal that's worth every cent?  Laughing gas.  I have never done a drug in my life, I hardly ever drink, but if you're going to be shoving drills in my mouth, not to mention that giant needle they use to inject novicane, I want to be as drugged up on gas as you can get me.

Of course, I'm making this "need to go to dentist!" observation at 5:45 am, so now I'm afraid that I'll lose my courage before the office opens to call, and end up thinking "Oh, it can wait."  I am a big chicken.  I am really good at talking myself out of this sort of thing.  "What?  No, I'm not sick!  So what if my temperature is 103!  That's just a nice healthy glow!"  Yeah.

(11:15pm- I kind of ended up forgetting to call and make an appointment when I woke up.  I will tomorrow though, really!)

I watched my dad on videotape for the first time since he died today.  It's something I've been putting off, I wasn't sure I could deal with it, but it wasn't as bad as I expected.  His voice sounded different than I remember, which is strange.  It was just about a 3 second clip of him, which is probably the easiest way to start.  The tape also had my nieces when they were little and incredibly cute, which stirred up my maternal instincts yet again.  Want babies!

I meant to type more of a post today, but the day slipped away so quickly.  Maybe tomorrow?  Either way, I've got a whole month of posting ahead.

Hi, we can't come to the comments right now, so leave a message after the beep!  BEEP!
