Got up at 4:45am on Saturday, left about 5:15am, and didn't get home till midnight. LONG day! I thought that I would get some sleep on the bus, but didn't happen!
If you missed Friday's post (What's wrong with you?), Mom and I took a bus up to Kansas City on Saturday to go to a couple of casinos. We know a great tour company that is super cheap- this time it was $15, which is less than what we would spend on gas ourselves, and we got two buffets and $5 to spend gambling. Ohhh how I wish I had only spent $5 now. I'm never super-lucky, but I usually do moderately well. Like if I start with $50, I come home with $80. Not the case for either of us this time, we both just kept losing all day. At the second casino, after I watched $20 just slip away within minutes on a slot machine, I said screw it, and walked over to the lobby of the attached hotel, where I curled up in a comfortable leather chair with a book. (What, you don't bring a book when you go to the casino?) As if I wasn't bummed enough about losing money (which really needed to go towards the purchase of a new camera), when the casino lady swiped my card to enter the contest they were having, she asked if I knew I was only wearing one earring. Yup, I lost one of my *favorite* earrings somehow. I went back to the hotel lobby, but it wasn't there, and nobody had turned it in (it's a huge chandelier type on, you wouldn't be able to miss it), and went back to the buffet, but no earring there either. I am in mourning.
I ended up sleeping damn near all day today. I was SO tired when I got home last night, but still didn't fall asleep until around 2am. My sister MaryAnn was here for the day today, so she woke me up at 10am. I fell back asleep around 2 when she and mom went to the store, and woke up again at 5. Then I fell asleep again at 9pm, and slept till midnight, which is now. Mmm, sleep!
