So, I think I mentioned a few days ago that I went out looking for a job.  The two places I stopped at then weren't hiring, so I tried again today.  The first place I tried, the office was locked with a note that whoever was supposed to be there was off somewhere else, so no go there.  I tried two places near home, not hiring.  So, since I was on my way to Branson to pick up my free movie rentals, I decided to try a few places along the way.  If you happen to be looking for a job doing laundry in a hotel, I can point you in about six different ways where you are wanted.  Nobody wanted a front desk clerk, though.  On my way home, I tried one last place, and nearly fell over when she said they WERE hiring for front desk!  And for evening hours at that!  So I filled out the application, and I am training from 3-11 tomorrow- woohoo!   I had seriously been starting to get worried after all those places said no.  I have never had trouble finding a job before!  I normally tend to "fall into things", where the perfect situation just pops up when I need it, so it was weird to actually have to go out and look!

I must now lament the concept of "work clothes".  I have been going through my closet (and buying a new pair of black pants) trying to find stuff that is "nice".  I haven't had a job that required anything other than non-nudity in ages!  My pants are all either jeans or comfy pants to dance in.  After much searching, I have enough clothes gathered up to get me through about 4 days, but after that, I'm screwed.  Maybe they will come around and say "Hey, nobody sees the bottom half of you anyway!  Just wear jeans."

So, now I am going to try to get to bed at an early hour, with hopes to get out of bed in time to eat and dress myself and stuff before I have to be there.  Hooray for upcoming income!  I shall celebrate by making a list of all the shiny pretty things I am going to buy.  (Shut up, I know I have bills to pay, but if we just ignore them, they will go away and I can spend my paychecks on books.)

(PS- is it bad that I don't actually remember the name of the hotel that hired me?  I know it has "King" in the name, and I know where it is, but I don't remember the name.  Oh well, I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually.)
