Okay, I’m sitting down here at work with seven and a half hours ahead of me, so I’m finally going to update!  (I hate working Saturdays because there is never ever anything good on TV)  I actually have a pretty good excuse for not updating for so long- our internet at home was down for almost two weeks!  I almost fell over when I called the tech support guy and he told me it would be 12 days before anyone could come out to fix the problem!  Luckily, my snazzy new laptop arrived on the same day that our net went down, so I was at least able to get online at work.  Our home internet finally came back up a few days ago, though- hooray!  Having internet at work makes the time go a lot faster!  The only bad part is that we don’t have a connection at the front desk, so I either have to go sit in the little room right off the lobby to plug in, or hope that I pick up the occasional wireless from the building next door.  Either way, it’s better than no internet!  I am campaigning for a wireless router for the lobby, though.

Thanks to the lack of internet at home, I have at least made some progress on the whole “Watch 200 movies in 15 months” thing.  I’m still not even ¼ through, and I only have a little over 3 months left.  Not looking good!  (I even started kind of cheating and allowing movies that I watch in MST3k episodes.)  One of the movies I watched was American Bellydancer, a documentary about the formation of beginning of the Bellydance Superstars.  There was a little too much about Miles, and not quite as much of other stuff I’d like to see (I love watching rehearsals, for instance.  I would love to see footage of them first learning new choreography, for example) It was totally worth it for a few moments, though (Rachel singing about dressing on the bus, Suhaila yelling at Miles)  Now if only someone would make a documentary that’s actually *about* American bellydance, that would rock.

Speaking of dance, I've been learning choreography to a bandari number, which is Iranian in origin, and a lot different from what I usually do.  I tried to find some video clips online, but there are pretty much none.  This page has some info about it if you're interested, though.  I've also been working on some ideas for various costumes, namely a red and black tribal fusion one, and a purple cabaret one.  I went crazy at Hobby Lobby earlier this week buying beads and stuff for the tribal bra.  The bad thing about building costumes is that you get weird looks from the other shoppers when you run around craft supply stores holding things up to your chest or your head to see how they would look on.  I held up a fake flowerpot to my head in Wal-Mart to see how one of the flowers would look in a headdress.  At least I may have made some security surveillance guy's job more interesting

I think I mentioned in a prior post that made a 101 in 1001 list, but I totally forgot to post the link!  You can see that here, I'm amazed I've actually crossed some stuff already.
