Okay, Traumatic!  I accidentally grabbed the wrong set of keys today, and ended up at work without a house key.  I called mom to ask her to leave one outside for me, but she said to just call her when I got to our road, and she'd let me in.  So, I got to our road, called, no answer.  I called back once I was in the driveway, no answer.  Long story short, I spent THIRTY minutes outside calling, banging on the doors, going out back and throwing rocks at her window (she's on the 2nd floor), going up on the back deck and banging on the side of the house, calling constantly, starting to wonder if I should just drive back to the hotel and sleep there (or call 911 because she must be hurt if she's not answering)?  So finally, after half a freaking hour of every dog in the neighborhood barking at my break-and-enter attempts (are my windows locked?), she woke up and let me in, and asked (I kid you not!)  "Why didn't you call?"  I hope she at least gets some laughs out of the 13 increasingly frantic messages on the machine in the morning.

Later, I checked my e-mail, and there was a message from Amazon.com saying that my order had shipped.  Umm, but I didn't order anything!  I e-mailed customer service to let them know, and they responded that it had been ordered with the 1-Click feature, which they helpfully informed me meant that the order is placed in one click.  Thanks, smart people, but I didn't click anything!  Because the order is already ready to ship, I can't cancel it, so I'm stuck either returning it, or just keeping it.  At least it's a book from my wish list that I could really use (It's about writing, and NaNoWriMo is fast approaching), but if I'm going to order stuff from Amazon, I'd at least do the $25 thing to get free shipping!

I really need to stop signing up for Netflix.  I have these great ideas about watching movies all the time, and seeing a zillion in the month I pay for, but then I never get around to watching the ones I rent.  I must learn to resist its charms!

I ended up skipping dance today- It was one of those mornings when I just couldn't get out of bed, so I kept hitting snooze, and by the time I realized what time it was, I was already late.  Plus I had to work today, so I would have had to leave before the end of my 2nd class to get back in time, so driving up when I would arrive late and leave early made no sense.

I did get to run some fun errands today.  A kid left his stuffed Garfield at the hotel last week, and I thought it would be fun to take some pictures of Garfield around the hotel to send back with him.  I got shots of Garfield working the front desk, sleeping in a bed, sitting in the hallway, riding on a luggage rack, looking out the window, etc.  Anyway, with things being as crazy as they have, it's taken a whole week for me to actually get them developed, so I finally got to pick them up today.  Then I had another unusual thing to do- we have a family staying at the hotel who left Texas to get out of the path of Rita, and the guy's wife called from Indonesia last night (I had been wondering where they were from!)  and said that today was his birthday, and wondered if we could pick him up a cake.  I got to go find a cake, candles, plates, balloons, etc.  Kind of makes me want to work at a major resort where concierge people get to do that kind of thing often.

Rachel Brice's video to Bassnectar's Bellydancer Snakecharmer song is back up!  If I haven't already made you watch it a thousand times (because I totally want to be Rachel when I grow up), the link is www.rachelbrice.com/snakecharmer.mov.  Watch it, love it.

I finally uploaded my updated version of the Adventure List.  It's pretty much the same stuff, but a little bit better organized, and with a few things thrown in.  I also replaced the old (oh-so outdated) About Me page with a 100 Things list, and updated my 101 in 1001 list.

I've been on a weird writing kick lately.  I think it's part because NaNoWriMo is coming up, and part because I met someone who inspired me in a weird way.  (Of course, I haven't heard from said someone all week, so I'm bummed about that.  You guys know how rare it is that I find someone interesting.)  I've been having fun with it, though, as well as digging up old stuff to look through.  Kellylu, we need to write pantorums again!  Or at least really bad haiku!  (And HEY!  Now that I think of it, didn't we used to have a Really Bad Haiku site?  I swear we did!  What happened to that?)

I set up a blog on MySpace, which can be seen here, because I wanted somewhere to post to from work, and that format is much more convenient than setting up one of these posts.  I haven't been posting there much, and anything that goes there will probably end up here, too, but I thought I'd share anyway.
