I have this document on my laptop, written in notepad, which essentially keeps my whole life in order. Actually, it is only half of a duo which does this- there is also a spiral notebook next to my bed where I jot down notes- things I come across when I'm reading, or things I remember when I'm falling asleep. Anyway, the one on my laptop was getting way too long to be practical, so I set out on a mission to clean out the things in there that were no longer applicable. Here's a short list of what is listed in my notes:
- Movies to see
- Stuff I need to do around the house between now and when I go back to work
in March (I call it my "Don't get TOO lazy list")
- a reminder to send Kelly the book on Greece I bought her back in, um,
September.
- A list of things to see in the UK that I made while watching a show on the
Travel Channel
- The name Dave Salmoni. I watched a show on Animal Planet where he
gradually integrated himself into a lion herd, so that after something like
twelve weeks, they would let him sit down near them while they were eating.
I want to either look him up online, or marry him.
- Some notes for my next Disney trip. Yeah, I start early.
- A line from my journal in 2003 that I came across, which mentions that gas
in Branson is $1.49, but at my favorite gas station, it is only $1.39.
This makes me tear up a little now, doesn't it you?
- An address of someone from PX that I simply must send a postcard to.
- A list of sites that I need to remove from my link list on this page
because they either no longer exist, or haven't updated since around 2003.
- The urls of some pictures of the house from when we first moved in, so
that after I finish my extensive house cleaning (see item 2), I can show you
what it looks like now vs. then.
- What I think may be the Wahida rhythm. I was listening to it being
played, and tried to write it down. My note says D tktktk kt tk, but I
need to look it up to see if that is even close to being right.
(According to
this link, I was pretty close!)
Ooh, does it feel like you snuck on my laptop and read through my stuff? Weirdo.
Ready for something ironic? I finally filed for unemployment today (the phone system has been busy, and the website screwed up). Since I have a definite return date (when the hotel opens back up in March), I don't have to do any of the job search stuff, which is very nice. The ironic part? Right after filing, I bought a pair of Melodia pants, which are $70. I debated getting them forever, because I *really* need new pants for dance, and I have been searching for months for some that I really like, but I haven't been able to find any. They're all either too tight or too baggy,or in most cases, way too short. These, however, are designed for bellydance, they have their own fan club on tribe.net, and Rachel Brice adores them, which is really all the endorsement I need! You can see the different styles here in their ebay store. Anyway, I just find it funny that after signing up for "Please help me, it is winter and thus I have no income!" unemployment, I then spend what will probably be my first week's check on dance pants. But then, who needs to buy food when you can have awesome pants? And they do count as clothing, which is one of the major staples of life, right? Yeah, even I think I'm reaching there. Now what will I do when Melodia releases their cloaks?
