Um, oops! I just opened up FrontPage to start a post for today, and I found the beginning of one from January 11th. Has it really been that long? Sorry! Arrgh, this is going to have to be a huge update!
Here is what the Jan 11th one said:
"The newest part we're working on is kind of like "Matrix: The Musical!"
Spilled salsa, water bottle, milk. Power went out, slept noon-5"
Perhaps that needs some elaboration?
The first sentence is in reference to the tribal fusion choreography we've been working on at dance. At the time, we were learning a section that had a very "Neo dodging bullets" feel. Love it!
The second string of words refers to the awful Friday the 13th I was having. I spilled salsa, an entire bottle of water, and a glass of milk on myself all within the first few hours of the day. Then the electricity went out for several hours, leaving us to freeze. Not fun! In fact, the power went out twice that week. Not fun at all!
You may recall that in my last post I mentioned the irony of filing for unemployment the same day I spent $70 on a pair of pants? Well, to top that, the same day the pants came (love them!), I also got a letter saying that I didn't qualify for unemployment because...well, I never did figure it out. I am guessing it has something to do with me only working six and a half months last year, though.
What else is there to catch up on? Oh yes! Ready for more irony? A couple of weeks ago, my sister called and said she had a week off in February, and she was thinking of going to Disney World- did I want to go with? Yes, I just got back two months ago! Am I going again? Of course! Like I'm going to say no to a trip where someone else is paying? Hah! I am totally available to accompany you on your journey almost anywhere, as long as it is free. It is going to be an awful lot of fun to show my sister and nephew the "World", since it is their first trip. (Cue Aladdin music here!) The only bad part is that we are going during Presidents Week, which is reportedly incredibly crowded, and I am used to going at the least crowded times of year. Will actually having to wait in lines be the death of me? Or will I just skip rides all together and spend the vacation in the Boulangerie Patisserie in France at Epcot? (Chocolate mousse, why can't I quit you???)
Last week sucked with a capital S- I started the week of really sick, breaking a five plus year streak of not throwing up. Then on Thursday I had my evil wisdom tooth pulled. I am lazy, so I will c/p a bit about that from my MySpace blog-

Aww, it pasted blue. Oh well, too lazy to fix it! My poor mouth (the injury known throughout the week as "the hole and my head", and sometimes "the lack thereof", as in "My tooth hurts! Well, I mean, my lack of tooth!") was awfully uncomfortable Thurs-Monday, at which point the awful squishy swelling finally died down. Holes in your head are not recommended!
I found out yesterday that our dance performance on the 18th isn't until 5pm, which sort of sucks, because my sister, nephew, and I have to drive to St Louis that night so we can catch our freakishly early flight the next morning. (We're saving some crazy amount like $500 my flying out of St L instead of Springfield, so it is totally worth the drive!) I originally thought the dance thing was around 1pm, which meant we could be on the road by 3, in StL by around 6, but the new time means we have to do the whole drive at night. Ick!
I woke up early today- 9:30am! I hate waking up early on dance days, since I know I won't be getting home until at least 11. I do need a few hours of shopping in Springfield today, though, so it probably works out well.
