You know it's going to be a good day when your alarm clock wakes you up, you roll over to look at it, point at it and declare, "J'accuse!"
There is sunshine today! Actual, real sun! I went and stood in between my curtain and the door, and it felt like being in a tanning bed. I should lay in the puddle of sunshine near the door later, like a lizard on a rock, and just soak it all in while I can. Maybe the groundhog really was right!
It's actually a very confusing day, weather wise. (Oh no, I'm talking about the WEATHER! I now have two readers left. You know, from the five people who read this.) I went upstairs to get the mail, and this is what I saw out the back door:

But then I opened the front door, and...
Welcome to Bizarro World!
I am searching everywhere for my ballet shoes, because I have dance class tomorrow, and the new studio we're using has TILE floors, which are COLD on my TOES! Maybe my shoes are in my car somewhere? I can't find my jazz shoes, either! Here's hoping I don't have to break out my old ballet shoes with the duct-taped toes!
I went to the pet store yesterday, and made the best 50 cent investment EVER. Lily would like to introduce you to her new toy, Octopus:

Last night around 2am, she ran down the stairs and started doing her "Pay attention to me!" meow. I looked over, and she had carried Octopus down the stairs to me in her mouth. SO cute! She used to do that all the time when she was a baby- she would bring you every single toy she owned, very proud of each one. "THIS is my toy! And THIS is my mousie! And THIS..." I haven't seen her carry anything around in ages, though! Mr. Octopus is an instant hit here at Casa Crystal!

Lily would like for you to know that she is very fierce, and sharpens her claws eighteen times a day.
Gas to drive to Branson: $3
Frappuccino to motivate me to leave the house: $2.16
Octopus: 53 cents
Octopus on your cat's head: Priceless.
I came across a Valentines Day postcard swap last night during my internetting that I had totally forgotten that I'd signed up for. Good thing I picked last night to check the site! Since the big V-Day (Or "VD" as I'm quite fond of calling it) is just around the corner, I decided I needed to make some postcards post haste! I figured the easiest thing to do would be to grab a stack of magazines, cut out a whole lotta red and pink, and do collage postcards.
I seriously broke some kind of record for fastest postcard making EVER. It usually takes me hours and hours and hours of looking for just the right images and words to do this kind of postcard, but last night I was in a "just get it done really fast! Zoom!" mood, so I tore through about 10 magazines, and did 7 postcards in less than 2 hours. I know that doesn't sound fast, but trust me, for me, it's crazy fast! Are they the greatest artistic creations ever known? Hell no. Are they cute and good enough to send? Yes!
Only a few of them ended up how I had originally planned:

The others ended up a little more random. And now I have quite the conundrum, because I really like the tiger one! I want to keep it and stick it on my wall and love it. But that would be wrong, since I made it for someone else, right? But then I could just make her a new one. Decisions, decisions!
